The Team

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Lisa Cohen is a freelance television producer with extensive experience in the comedy industry. Her credits include "Funniest Mom in America" 2 and 3, "She's Got the Look" 1 and 2, and "High School Musical: Get in the Picture." Prior to her work in the comedy industry, Ms. Cohen spent 10 years as a graphic designer in the media business. Most importantly, Lisa is sick and tired of reading updates like "Lisa is sick," or "Lisa is tired." All too often, in a time of acute boredom, she looks to her smartphone for entertaining updates only to find the mundane and uninspired. She cursed the system for not giving her an endless stream of comedians' updates, until she finally realized she had to build it herself.

Chief Content Officer Michael Ian Black is a consummate writer-comedian who began his career with "The State," a sketch comedy troupe he co-founded at New York University in 1988, which went on to have a successful run on MTV. He then co-created the Comedy Central television series "Viva Variety," and from there he appeared on several television shows before landing the role of Phil Stubbs on NBC's "Ed," which ran for almost four seasons. His next project was "Stella," a television show he co-created with Michael Showalter and David Wain, which ran on Comedy Central. Michael has appeared in several films and is a popular contributor to VH1's "I Love the..." series. In 2005, he wrote and his directed his first film, "Wedding Daze." His screenplay "Run Fat Boy Run," came out in 2007. Michael is also a stand-up comedian, who regularly tours the country. His first album of stand-up comedy "I Am a Wonderful Man," was released in 2007. His first book of humorous essays, "My Custom Van," was published by Simon & Schuster in 2008, and his first children's book, "Chicken Cheeks," was released in January 2009. His latest project is "Michael and Michael Have Issues," a comedy series premiering in July 2009 on Comedy Central.
