What's funny about what's happening, now

WITSTREAM’S ARISTOCRATS are a mix of comedy professionals and ordinary people who are just plain funny. The Aristocrats have been selected by WitStream to deliver on WitStream’s promise of offering curated, comedic news updates live, 24/7. The Aristocrats are an amazing set of writers from shows ranging from Modern Family and The Daily Show, to Family Guy and SNL—as well as famous comedians, such as Patton Oswalt and Andy Richter.

Our goal at WitStream is to showcase the best comedy out there. We follow the ins and outs of comedy, which means you don’t have to. While many in our talent pool are well-known, our Aristocrats are also derived from new, up-and-coming talent. Our lesser-known Aristocrats are comedians and writers we have been following and laughing with for years and we know they deserve a bigger audience. These contributors might be known inside the comedy world, but they’re not yet household names. Through our distribution platforms, our audience will get to know these comedians and meet a host of under-the-radar Aristocrats before they hit the big time.

How do you decide who gets to be on WitStream?

There’s no hard and fast rule here: it’s about reading tweets, blogs, and status updates to see if someone is funny, consistent, and original. Accepted contributors also fit the tone we’re going for—we know it when we see it.

I applied to WitStream, But I haven’t heard back. Does that mean I was rejected?

Not necessarily. While we review applicants regularly, we do get backlogged from time to time. However, we only reply to applicants if they have been accepted.

OK, so I’m pretty sure I was rejected. What gives?

Don’t take it personally! You might not be the right fit for WitStream. Or maybe you’re just not quite there yet. If you applied, you’re on our radar, so keep writing and there’s always a chance you’ll get on in the future.

But I’m way funnier that some of the people on your site.

Fine. I’m going to start my OWN site.

We’re not going to stop you.
